Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
